Breaking down stupidly tall #Minecraft ore towers is still great relaxation :cuteBlob:

Public · 2022-12-28 06:19+00:00 I understand the longer character limit is enticing but why are people writing entire blogs on Mastodon lol
Public · 2022-12-27 17:28+00:00 @botteaap I've just started unfollowing folks who exclusively cross-post since they clearly prefer Twitter.
Public · 2022-12-26 18:05+00:00 @yasmineevjen If you're trying to build a portfolio kinda site then Carrd (https://carrd.co/) is unbeatable, for more involved sites others have given good suggestions.
Public · 2022-12-26 14:58+00:00 Cheaters in unrated games 🤡
Public · 2022-12-26 09:16+00:00 Michael Leggett seems to have brought his simpl.fyi extension to #Mastodon and it looks great!

Public · 2022-12-23 19:30+00:00 Massive fan of how easy it is to assemble compact #Docker images with #Nix.
https://github.com/msfjarvis/linkleaner/commit/f10445f9862ec07a77bc470cdb52e2874e882878
Public · 2022-12-23 12:14+00:00 I've been trying to get more comfortable with #nix during my downtime and writing usually helps, so here's a quick dummy friendly (it's me, I am dummy) post about writing checks for your Nix Flakes

Public · 2022-12-23 05:57+00:00 @jw Agreed, when they got acquired by GitHub they basically disappeared off the face of the Earth while they were integrating Dependabot into GitHub's monolith and the development velocity just never recovered.
Public · 2022-12-23 05:45+00:00 @jw Everytime I've wanted to do something specific it's been like "there's a 3 year old issue for it in Dependabot" and with Renovate it's either a quick regex manager away or has just always worked perfectly. I feel Dependabot is understaffed to some extent but it's still inexcusably bad for what it promises.
Public · 2022-12-22 15:57+00:00 @friendlymike wooooo! one of us! one of us!
Jokes aside I've spent a fair bit of time using Rust in side projects so please don't hesitate to tag me if you run into any roadblocks :D
Public · 2022-12-22 14:33+00:00 @TartanLlama And it looks fabulous as ever :D
Public · 2022-12-20 17:32+00:00 Still don't fully understand how AndroidX Paging works under the hood but this was a fun bug to chase down, I'll try to put down my debugging steps for this in a blog post soon

Public · 2022-12-20 17:28+00:00 @0xDEADBEEF@fosstodon.org @eighthave That's incorrect, you're thinking of min SDK.
Public · 2022-12-19 10:06+00:00 Though I did learn my lesson and
a) changed the constant to be more obvious: https://msfjarvis.dev/aps/b84f7ccd0784
b) added a proper regression test: https://msfjarvis.dev/aps/39a0284cd552

Public · 2022-12-19 03:34+00:00 @sasikanth Ah, that checks out.
Public · 2022-12-18 13:59+00:00 @sasikanth Probably an issue with the CoroutineDispatcher you're using?
Public · 2022-12-18 13:34+00:00 @sasikanth It should all work as you'd expect, most of Paging is in a JVM library so unit testing is actually rather straightforward. Have you seen the official docs and samples?

Public · 2022-12-18 08:37+00:00 Currently running memtest86 to confirm the JVM crashes I've been having are not from bad memory.
Also praying it's not bad memory cuz I'm too broke to replace it :blobSmileSweating:
Public · 2022-12-16 16:27+00:00 @jw @dankim @cb Hazel over on Hachyderm already put together a JS-based redirection page that should continue to work.

Public · 2022-12-15 17:27+00:00 @friendlymike I believe CashApp's port[1] of AndroidX Paging does work on the JVM, though when I needed paging a year or so ago I used a different library[2]

Public · 2022-12-01 15:20+00:00 Finally got some time to dedicate to finalizing the Kotlin/JVM port of age, I've started work on getting the upstream tests to run against our implementation which is the last piece before documentation and a 1.0 release.
