@wilfredh I also dislike how difficult it is to write a lint for Rust code but the ESLint way is just not it. It might be a JS ecosystem problem but every major ESLint release (of which there have been many) causes a giant ecosystem rift because you've imported project and framework specific lints written by someone else and now have to wait for *all* of them to sync up before you can adopt a new ESLint, which sucks a lot in practice.
